Roger is a self-taught jeweller who developed his skills through experimenting with different mediums.  During seven years of working in the goldfields he prospected for gold discovering small nuggets that inspired a passion to create pieces of jewellery.

Researching from a book in the library he learned about the lost wax method of casting and the centrifugal casting machine, so, using an electric motor and the lid of a 44 gallon oil drum he built a centrifugal casting machine.

With an interest particularly in opals he sent to South Australia for some rough opal and practiced learning how to cut and polish the stones. He went on to work with a variety of gemstones but always returned to opals as a preferred option.

Sourcing his opals from around the country Roger selects the very best for his jewellery designs. With an appreciation particularly for inlay work his jewellery is strong and unique with pieces he has created for men and women.
