Feature Artist: Julie Silvester

Julie Silvester is passionate about the West Australian coastline, with its clear waters, clean sands, its colour, textures and light all of which has given her an endless supply of inspiration to paint from.

Capturing the essence of the coastal landscape in pastel is what motivates Julie to paint. Being a dry medium it allows her to work spontaneously applying multiple layers of colour which gives a depth and light to each piece.

‘’I want to share with the viewer the awesome beauty of our pristine coastline and see and sense the familiar and remote areas that we love to visit. I want them to feel like they can "smell the sea" or feel the cool morning sand between their toes.’’

Feature Artist: Paul Margocsy

Paul Margocsy is known primarily for his watercolour paintings of Australian birds and wildlife. Though he has never received any formal art training, he is internationally recognised as one of Australia's best wildlife artists. His art is collected both in Australia and internationally alike.

A traditional realist with a photographic memory and prodigious drawing skills, Paul is able to capture more than a visual truth. Through observation and knowledge of different bird species behaviours, Paul is able to show the character and charm of his subjects.

Feature Artist: Keith Rowe

Keith Rowe is  primarily a glass blower but also enjoys working with sand and kiln casting. Keith has worked with glass for over 20 years and enjoys creating balanced forms with exciting decorative elements. Keith's work is held in many public and private galleries in both Australia and internationally and he has won a number of international competitions and awards.

Over the years Keith has developed his own individual style, often working on a body of works to produce a series. Working this way he can explore many ideas and discover new directions. One style often leads to another. As Keith explains, 'There is so much to be done in glass that working on one series often leads me on a whole new path and onto a new series of works.'

Yalgoo Race Day

Feature Artist: Ian Dickinson

Ian Dickinson’s use of striking colours, unusual perspective and familiar subject matter creates original and contemporary paintings that portray the iconic ''outback'' Australia.

Multiple areas of interest within each painting lead the viewer on a journey of interest through each work.

Ian’s new painting ‘’Yalgoo Race Day’’ received a Highly Commended Award at the 2013 Vasse Art Exhibition judged by Dr Stefano Carboni, Director of The Art Gallery of Western Australia. This painting retains the identify of the location while focusing on the beauty and expanse of the distinctive inland landscape of Western Australia.

Yallingup Galleries also welcomes the opportunity for individuals to purchase work commissioned by Ian. Our staff can guide you through this process to ensure that you receive a highly personal and unique painting.
