Brian commenced his career as a Lithographer in the printing industry. He worked for various companies including The Sunday Times, New Idea in Melbourne and advertising agencies prior to becoming a full time artist.  Born in Western Australia, Brian studied Fine Art in many mediums and subjects for over forty years. As a professional artist he has become renowned for his portraits, busking as a portraiture artist in Galleries, hotel lobbies and a Mediterranean cruise ship.

His award winning body of work spans genres and decades. His nomination for the Children’s Book Council " Crichton Award " for best new illustrator for his contribution to " Lighthouse Girl " (Fremantle Press, 2010) and his own 100 page coffee table book of paintings " The River " (also Fremantle Press), are recent successes. In September 2012, he took part in an international art symposium in Pochlarn Austria. In April 2013 the sequel to " Lighthouse Girl " was launched by the Governor of Western Australia, and " Light Horse Boy " went on sale.

In addition to his personal art pursuits, he has taught drawing and painting courses for the University of Western Australia through it’s extension programme.

He exhibits regularly and currently teaches " Art for Recreation ". He has won numerous prizes for his drawing, oil painting and mixed media works. His work can be found in many private and public collections in Australia.
